Backlighting is one of the most popular forms of vision inspection illumination, providing maximum contrast between object and scene and producing a high contrast image with consistent edge definition. Our Machine Vision Backlights combine the latest high brightness LEDs with exclusive optical lensing to create high intensity and uniform (+/- 5%) shadow-free illumination.

Connectorized and convenient 24VDC power supply features an onboard and integrated driver. Commenly applied to measuring, defect and hole detection, and determining the orientation of parts. VLT offers variety of Backlights to suit the needs of various Machine Vision applications: area, linear, narrow, and our highly compact thin Backlights. Backlights can be configured for wavelength and other specifications. Our range Backlights includes several models, colours and lengths and there are also custom orders available.
AREA BACKLIGHTS
This MetaBright™ diffuse Area Backlights for Machine Vision provides uniform lighting (+/- 5%) using high dense precision chips technology (HDPCT) with ultrabright LEDs. Our backlights can be configured for wavelength and other specifications.

ECONOMICAL BACKLIGHTS
Economical Backlights for Machine Vision combine the latest high brightness LEDs with Metaphase’s patent pending laser-edged Lumiform technology, to produce highly uniform (+/- 5%), illumination, eliminating hotspots and glare. This recent breakthrough in light guiding diffusion makes this one of VLT’s most affordable models.

LINEAR BACKLIGHTS
MetaBright™ diffuse linear backlight for Machine Vision provides uniform lighting (+/- 5%) using high dense precision chips technology (HDPCT) with the super bright LEDs. Our backlights can be configured for wavelength and other specifications.

NARROW BACKLIGHTS

THIN BACKLIGHTS
MetaBright™ diffuse thin backlights has very small form factor and it is ideal for tight space Machine Vision applications. The light provides high intensity and uniform lighting (+/- 5%) using high dense precision chips technology (HDPCT). Our backlights can be configured for wavelength and other specifications.

COLLIMATED BACKLIGHTS
The Collimated Backlights for Machine Vision uses LED illumination to direct light onto objects to produce high contrast silhouettes. The Collimated Tube Backlight boasts increased illumination compared to standard backlights when used with telecentric lensing. Telecentric illumination is ideal for precision measurements where accuracy, repeatability, and throughput are key factors in the application's succes.

The key benefits of telecentric illumination for Machine Vision are: superior detection of small defects; increased measurements accuracy and repeatability compared to standard backlight illumination; elimination of blurred edges caused by diffuse reflections; increased light intensity; reduced camera exposure times from increased light intensity; faster systems and high throughput compared to standard backlight illumination; and increased distance between object and illumination source.

MB-CBL Series.

METASTANDARD BACKLIGHTS
Our line of MetaStandard Backlights provides a more economical option to our lineup of MetaBright Backlights for Machine Vision applications requiring large active areas for silhouetting or trans massive applications. The MetaStandard for Machine Vision is available in sizes up to 60’’x60’’ (1.5m x 1.5m) and available in square and rectangle sizes. Utilizing a full array LED layout provides better uniformity and intensity compared to large edge lit backlights. Using analog driver technology you will get flicker free performance and dimming control. With 30,000 lux of intensity and +/- 10% uniformity, the MetaStandard Backlight is a leader in price/performance.
